Prior partnership · Closed 2026

Highland Fund LLC

A family-office partnership. Closed 2026.

A second private partnership run on the same principle: a closed group of partners and a mandate written to fit them. It closed in 2026.

How it worked

A family-office partnership is built the other way round from a public fund. A fund publishes a strategy and then finds investors who want it. A partnership like this one started with the partners — their circumstances, their time horizon, their tax position, what they already owned and could not easily sell — and the mandate was written to fit.

Separate partners warranted a separate vehicle. Keeping the two partnerships distinct meant each mandate could be written for the people actually in it, without the compromises that come from housing unrelated circumstances under one structure.

The practical consequences were that the partnership stayed small, closed, and unmarketed. It had no public track record, no minimum designed to attract subscriptions, and no intention of growing for its own sake.
